Following the closure of much-loved bars, Friars Court & EDEN, Warrington’s only alternative club night has quickly sought a new home next door at Postern Gate with its first at the new venue this Friday, 31st January.
They will be throwing it back to 1990 with a range of older songs that might not usually get played alongside the very best Pop Punk, Metal and Alternative anthems.
However, anticipation is rising for the 4th annual Emo Prom, which will for the first time, no longer be in the former FC2 bar and will once again include all the favourites. Taking place on Friday 28th February, expect slow dances, balloon drop, black rose giveaways, a yearbook to sign and the all important Prom Photos on arrival!
Lee Harman, founder and one of the DJ’s says: “Emo Prom has always been something special to what we do here at Asylum. Offering an experience that goes past anything else offered in the town, and more than matching the biggest events in Manchester & Liverpool, it’s a safe space to get dressed up, get the eyeliner on and celebrate our favourite bands!”
Tickets for both events are priced at £3 in advance and £4 on the door with Emo Prom likely to close to a sellout on the night. Tickets are available on See Tickets.
Recent special guests to perform at Asylum Clubnight are You Me At Six, who end their 20+ year career at a sold out Wembley Arena in April, Funeral For A Friend and Sean Smith who DJ’d at last years Download Festival.
The clubnight which was relaunched in July 2021 following an 18 month delay due to covid regulations, has seen giveaways for a range of festivals including Download, Slam Dunk & Bloodstock.
As well as events in Warrington, Asylum also has nights in Stockport, and Leigh.
