After succeeding at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2024, West End punters will be thrilled that ‘The Last Laugh’ is heading to London. The Noël Coward Theatre will reintroduce the British theatre-going public to the fantasised lives of Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe, and Bob Monkhouse, three of the nation’s finest comedians.
The Director, Producer, and Cast Members
Paul Hendy is the writer and director of this fascinating and hilarious display, which will first be performed on January 25th, 2025 and run for at least two months.
After the success of its previous iterations, Bob Golding, Damian Williams, and Simon Cartwright are once again taking up the task of portraying Eric Morecambe, Tommy Cooper, and Bob Monkhouse.
Jamie Wilson, producer of ‘The Last Laugh’, had this to say: “The young team here at JWP were bowled over by the relevance of their timeless comedy, and after seeing it myself in Edinburgh, I just knew it had to have a further life so many more people could experience it. What is so brilliant about this play is the audiences who love and remember Eric, Tommy, and Bob will be able to relive their comedy greatness, and those that don’t will be introduced to the genius of these national treasures. I’m so pleased these icons will be back on the London stage for audiences to enjoy”.
Even with a heavy emphasis on the comedy aspect of this show, there are numerous heartfelt moments throughout the show to engage the audience with the character development unfolding.
