THOUSANDS of people packed into Lymm village centre for the annual Carols from The Cross event on Christmas Eve.

Town Crier AJ Powell continued the Christmas tradition of his late grandad Peter Powell by starting proceedings hosted by Cheshire’s Mix 56 and Smiley Tunes who were joined on stage by local MP Esther McVey and Rev Beverley Jamieson from St Mary’s Church.

The crowd joined in a mixture of traditional Christmas carols and popular Christmas hits and there was even some festive “snow” to conclude proceedings which was organised by Lymm Parish Council supported by an army of volunteers.
