Warrington Male Voice Choir was joined by rugby legend Mike Nicholas MBE recently entertaining shoppers and retailers at Golden Square Shopping Centre.

With less than a week to go, Warrington Male Voice Choir is preparing for their annual Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert on 21st December at Parr Hall, Warrington, starting at 7.30pm.
The choir were delighted to see that Mike Nicholas MBE, was not only watching them sing, but in fact was singing along with the rest of the shoppers. Upon seeing Mike singing along, Choir Secretary, Amanda Davies, invited Mike to stand with the choir and sing with him. She didn’t need to ask him twice, as he quickly walked over and joined in. Despite not knowing what the choir would be singing, Mike knew all the songs.  Amanda said, “it was great to have Mike join in with the choir. However, I don’t think our avid St Helens Rugby League supporter, Musical Director, Russell Paterson, was quite as thrilled as the rest of the choir! Russell was a good sport though and welcomed Mike with opened arms”.
The choir also want to thank passing shoppers for not only stopping to listen to the choir, but also for their kind bucket collection donations. Thanks to their generosity £132.63 was raised, which will go towards choir funds.
If you would like to listen to the choir sing, they will be performing at the Parr Hall this Saturday, 21st December, for their Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert with guests Leyland Band. As usual, the audience will have the opportunity to join in with singing some Christmas carols.

Remember, it’s not Christmas until you’ve been to a Warrington Male Voice Choir ‘Christmas Voices Christmas Brass’ concert.  It’s a great night of festive fun for families, friends and people of all ages. To help get you into the festive mood the choir are encouraging the audience to wear something Christmassy for the occasion!
This year, in the audience, the choir will be joined as usual by the Mayor of Warrington, who is their President. Unfortunately, choir Patron, Sir Terry Waite KCMG CBE, is not able to make the concert, but instead has sent a message to be read out on his behalf during the evening.
At the end of the concert, there will be a retiring bucket collection which this year will be split 50/50 between Warrington Male Voice Choir and St Rocco’s Hospice. Please bring with you any spare change you have – coins or notes – so you can support both the choir and the hospice.
