NOW in its 38th year the Lymm Panto, ‘Scrooge’, at Lymm Rugby Club, returned to great acclaim, raising over £30k in the process!
But it’s not all about fundraising, important though this is, as Panto impresario Simon Plumb explained.
“As a registered charity, and with ambitions to build a new clubhouse, this is partly why we produce this annual extravaganza.
“However, the show also illustrates what a great time everyone has at Lymm RFC.
“This year we had seven players from all the senior teams and they were brilliant. I think the success of the Panto and all our teams on the pitch, from the minis to the first team, are connected.
“The number of volunteers who put the effort in is massive. We seem to be getting it right on so many levels at the club and it’s hugely exciting,’ he concluded.
The script included the usual slapstick innuendo with sell-out audiences packing into the rugby club for each performance.
