Three community support workers at Belong at Home Warrington are celebrating being shortlisted as finalists at the Great North West Care Awards, with their passion, dedication and performance in their work all recognised as being among the best in the region.

Laura Cooper, Sam Smith, and Donna Reardon have been nominated for the Dignity in Care, Palliative/End of Life Care, and the Home Care Coordinator awards, respectively. The trio are colleagues at Latchford dementia specialist Belong’s domiciliary care service, Belong at Home, supporting the care village’s tenants as well as those in the local catchment to live as independently as possible whilst enjoying later life.
Belong at Home Warrington area manager, Nicola Hewitt, said: “We are thrilled to have three nominations for the Great North West Care Awards – to reach this round alone is a massive achievement.
“Many of our team began their careers with us, starting out as support workers and then through training and mentorship, have progressed in seniority. We really are empowered with the autonomy to carry out our roles by putting people first and this enables us to provide the best possible care for our customers.”

The annual Great North West Care Awards acknowledge those working in the care sector throughout the UK, with winners from November’s regional finals advancing to national awards in early 2025.
The news follows Belong’s recent win the 2024 prestigious HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards, having taken the title for Best Health and Wellness Service for its holistic approach to care, breaking the mould of the ‘traditional care home’ by promoting an active lifestyle for customers, supporting them to live as independently as possible whilst enjoying later life.
