As Halloween creeps closer, Warrington town centre is gearing up for a spook-tacular half-term, with local businesses, venues, and organisations all brewing up something special to ensure the town is packed with eerie excitement and family-friendly frights.
The collective effort, supported by Warrington BID, has brought together a variety of events for all ages, creating a spooky atmosphere across the town. From Time Square to Golden Square and everywhere in between, the whole town is getting into the Halloween spirit.
The festivities kick off with Cineworld Warrington’s Horror Season, offering a lineup of terrifying films throughout October, from the 4th to the 31st. For just £5 per ticket, film fans can enjoy Halloween favourites such as A Nightmare on Elm Street on Friday 25th October and Saw on Thursday 31st October.
Animals are taking over Time Square on Wednesday 23rd October between 10am and 3pm, with Go Wild Halloween Camp returning to Warrington Market showing a selection of creepy creatures and the Spookysaurus Party walkabout in the square, bringing a prehistoric twist to Halloween.
The fun continues on Thursday 24th October with a Family Halloween Party featuring a Looby Lou bingo session, musical performances from Hocus Pocus tribute act, The Sanderson Sisters, and free face painting in the square.
On Friday 25th October, Time Square will host a pumpkin carving workshop, where kids and adults alike can get creative with their own Halloween decorations. Louie’s Pizza is also jumping into the festivities with a special pumpkin carving session on Monday 28th October at 4:30pm, including a kids’ meal deal for £10.
Project Manager Andrea Morley from Warrington BID said: “It’s been absolutely fantastic to watch the town getting ready for Halloween. We’ve got local businesses, venues, and so many people joining forces to make this year’s celebrations extra special.
“Whether you’re a family looking for fun or someone who just loves the spooky season, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. The whole town centre has embraced the spirit of Halloween, and we can’t wait to see everyone getting involved!”
The action continues at Warrington Youth Zone, where a dance fitness evening of fancy dress and glow sticks takes place on Sunday 27th October. ‘Fright Night Fever’ welcomes all over the age of 16 for a two-hour danceathon to raise money for the Youth Zone.
For those seeking thrills and chills on Halloween itself, Gravity Active has three exciting events lined up for Thursday 31st October. The day begins with a Parent and Toddler bounce session from 9am to 10am, followed by a quieter Special Educational Needs (SEN) session, offering a relaxed Halloween-themed experience. The day finishes with an over 5’s Halloween Party from 6pm to 8pm, guaranteeing an evening of spooky fun.
Visitors can round off festivities with trick-or-treating at shopping destination Golden Square on Halloween day, 10am – 2pm, with over 40 vendors participating in safe trick or treating and handing out sweet treats to costumed visitors, making it a perfect family-friendly event to cap off the celebrations.
Centre Director Ian Cox added: “Halloween is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the town centre to get involved, and this year we’ve seen a great response. With more than 40 vendors participating in trick-or-treating and so many events happening across the town, it’s going to be an exciting time for everyone.”
