VILLAGERS from churches and community groups braved the showers as they took part in the annual Walk of Witness at Stockton Heath Walking Day.
The event saw hundreds of people from churches and schools in Stockton Heath and nearby Appleton taking part despite sometimes heavy showers.
The theme at this year’s walk was “Love and villagers turned out in force despite the showers to show their support, lining the route through Stockton Heath
Father Michael Ridley from St Thomas’ Church led prayers on the field as churches and organisations taking part included St Thomas’,Hill Cliffe Baptist Church, Stockton Heath Christian Fellowship and Stockton Heath Methodists walked through the village.
Bands taking part included Warrington Brass and Tyldesley Brass Bands.
