YEAR 9 students from Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, Warrington, are celebrating after winning the annual United Utilities Engineering Masterclass Challenge.

For the last 20 weeks, a team of Year 9 students have been working on the competition project run by United Utilities and TCAT (The Challenge Academy Trust), supported by science teacher Andy Caine.
The competition brief was to design a new community centre in the Lake District, taking into account a full environmental impact assessment, water and electricity supply, design of the building and to scale floor plans, what the centre will provide and how the local and tourist communities benefit from the building.
Judging of the competition took place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington.
Boteler head teacher Beverley Scott-Herron said: “Our students were, and are, incredible.”
