“Live at St Wilfrid’s” recital by Duncan Glenday

THE next concert in the “Live at St Wilfrid’s” series at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, will take place on Thursday March 14 and will be a recital by pianist Duncan Glenday.

Duncan is no stranger to St Wilfrid’s, having accompanied singer Kathryn Rudge for all her performances there. He is well known for his recitals at prestigious venues including The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, St James, Piccadilly and the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford.
He is a professor of piano at the University of Manchester and has taught at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. He is also the founder and director of the Uppermill Summer Music Festival in Saddleworth.

Duncan’s programme will be based on the theme of “Postcards from Europe.”
Those who attended the last concert were privileged to hear the Warrington Male Voice Choir sing the new pieces which they had prepared for a forthcoming competition. The North Wales Choral Competition took place on Saturday and they won!.
