Household waste drop-off points to resume from Monday

3

THE two household waste drop-off points set up by Warrington Borough Council will be opened again from Monday 11 December.

While the council say it was the right decision to cease the drop-off points today, Friday, to ensure the waste collection service could resume as quickly as possible, they believe that based on current staffing levels today, they will be able to cover bin collections as well as the waste drop-off points.
The council appreciate that although the strikes are now over, some households will not have their waste or recycling bins emptied for several days, depending on when their normal bin days are.
The drop-off points being stood back up are therefore another opportunity for people to dispose of their black bin waste.

The waste drop-off points are:

  • Victoria Park, Knutsford Road, WA4 1DG
  • Alder Lane, Orford, WA2 8AG (the car park near the community centre at the end of Alder lane, by the bowling greens).

These community drop-off points will be open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm.
Please do not leave household waste at either drop-off point outside of the 10am-4pm opening hours. At each drop-off point, there will be skips to dispose of your normal, bagged household waste.
Please only use these drop-off points for rubbish that you would put in your black bin at home.

The drop-off points are not for:

  • household recycling or garden waste
  • business/ trade waste and any materials you would normally need a permit to dispose of
  • vans, trailers or large vehicles
  • any waste that wouldn’t normally go in your black bin (eg appliances, large household waste items, furniture of any size)

From Monday, the council will keep the usage of the drop-off points under review to determine when they can be permanently stood down.

    • the clouncil wont even give us a Council Tax reduction for the past 10 weeks off not having our bins emptied so they will just say that “IT WAS DOWN TO A ISSUE OUT OF OUR HANDS”, the best thing to do Gary is hit these clowns hard by NOT renewing your GREENBIN like thousands of other people wont
