Road closures for Lymm Dickensian Day and Santa Dash!

A number of road closures will be in place on Saturday (Dec 9) for the annual Lymm Dickensian Day Festival, which, according to weather forecasts, could be wet!

The Lymm Dickensian Day will start at 11:00 am when visitors can browse a varied selection of stalls and enjoy entertainment provided by local schools, choirs, bands, dramatic groups and street entertainers.

Entertainment and stalls are located in the following areas or venues:
Village Centre
Village Hall (located on Pepper Street)
Lymm Methodist Church (located on Eagle Brow)
Youth & Community Centre (located on Bridgewater Street)

* Please note, the village centre will be closed to traffic from 7:00 am to allow the various stalls to set up. Roads will reopen at 5:30 pm.

Santa Dash and the Grand Parade
The start of the parade begins at 1:30pm when around 250 Santa’s from Lymm Runners make a dash through the village to the finishing line.
The parade follows on shortly behind the Santa Dash and heads towards the village centre, to cheers and a warm welcome from spectators.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice that, on the occasion of the above mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets.

Between the hours detailed below on Saturday 9th December 2023:
Between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm
The Cross between Eagle Brow and Pepper Street
Eagle Brow between The Cross and Brookfield Road
Bridgewater Street
Whitbarrow Road between Bridgewater Street and Brookfield Road
Between the hours of 12.30pm and 1.45pm
Brookfield Road between Whitbarrow Road and Eagle Brow
Between the hours of 1.00pm and 2.30pm
The Cross between Pepper Street and Lymm Bridge
Lymm Bridge
New Road between Lymm Bridge and Dane Bank Road East

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the named streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above Order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
Vehicular access will be under the control of the organisers. Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
