Homestart Warrington and Cheshire announces change in chair at AGM

HOMESTART Warrington and Cheshire, a leading charity dedicated to supporting families in need, has announced a significant change in its leadership following the recent Annual General Meeting.

The charity bid farewell to its longstanding Chair, Gwen Lightfoot and welcomed Anne Cleminson as the incoming Chair.
Gwen Lightfoot, who has been involved with the charity since its inception in 1997, has transitioned from her role as Chair to Vice Chair, marking the end of her impactful 25 year tenure at the charity. During that time she has made remarkable contributions to the charity’s growth and success, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and leadership.
In her departing statement, Gwen expressed her gratitude, saying, “It has been a privilege to serve as the Chair of Homestart Warrington and Cheshire for over 20 years. While I step into the role of Vice Chair, I am committed to continuing my support for the charity and contributing to its continued success.”

The organization welcomed Anne Cleminson as the new Chair, and she expressed her enthusiasm for this new role, stating, “I am honoured to take on the role of Chair at Homestart Warrington and Cheshire. I look forward to leading the charity into a new era of growth and empowerment, and I am excited about the positive changes that lie ahead.
Anne’s appointment brings a fresh perspective and her extensive strategic knowledge and experience reflect a commitment to creating positive change and fostering resilient communities, with a focus on furthering the charity’s impact.
