VIDEO: THE ultimate cocktail rock ‘n’ roll bar Kuckoo is now open and rocking in Warrington following a complete refit of the former Institution bar premises in the town’s majestic treasury building.

Offering a unique blend of craft mixology-led cocktails and glamorous rock and roll music Warrington’s newest bar officially opens tonight, at 5 pm, with family and friends of owner Richard Powell getting an exclusive preview last night for a trial run.

Kuckoo Warrington’s interior design takes cues from the building’s rich history and unique architecture, retaining elements such as the original parquet floor and offering a twist on the classic Kuckoo theme with black, red, and gold accents. A stunning gold ceiling imported from the USA, burnt orange colour schemes, onyx stone that illuminates, and a captivating bar set like a stage as the centrepiece, will further enhance the visual experience.
With five bars now part of the brand, Kuckoo remains dedicated to delivering a premium experience for its customers.

Powell, who lives with his family in Grappenhall said: “Our ethos is all about having fun and letting loose in a comfortable and glamorous environment, and we wanted to bring this to Warrington.”

The majestic Treasury building

Located within The Treasury Building, which is also home to Warrington favourites San Lorenzo, Las Ramblas, The Terrace Gin and Cigar Bar and Vandal Restaurant, Kuckoo is the town’s first dedicated rock n roll ‘cocktail bar’ and boasts a team of professional highly trained, full-time mixologist bartenders. Their expertise, coupled with a genuine passion for exceptional customer service, ensures that every drink is crafted to perfection. The opening follows successful launches for the brand in Chester, Preston, Knutsford and Sheffield.
The venue offers table service and cocktail masterclasses alongside an extensive, fun and inspiring cocktail menu with a rock n roll theme – currently featuring iconic rock band Led Zeppelin. The stylish venue is open seven days a week from 5pm until late.

The centrepiece of the renovation is a stunning fully lit stone bar – a stunning, modern bar top and fascia, backlit in red to create a warm glow that will effortlessly take the bar from a relaxed daytime vibe to an all out late night rocking atmosphere.
The playlist at Kuckoo is made up of rock and roll favourites from legendary bands spanning various eras with iconic and popular tracks from The Rolling Stones and Blondie to Guns and Roses, The Killers, Oasis and The Strokes – providing a feel-good, nostalgic vibe and fun atmosphere.

“The refurbishment creates a glamorous, feel-good atmosphere for the local community and visitors to Warrington that sets Kuckoo apart from the competition.”
