Kuckoo – the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll cocktail bar is coming to Warrington!

THE ultimate cocktail rock ‘n’ roll bar Kuckoo is coming to Warrington in September following a complete refit of the former Institution bar premises in the town’s cultural quarter.

Offering a unique blend of craft mixology led cocktails and glamorous rock and roll music awaits visitors to Warrington’s newest bar, Kuckoo, from late September 2023.

Taking over the old Institution Bar on Palmyra Square, a complete renovation of the 180 sq. m premises is currently well underway.
Located within The Treasury Building, which is also home to Warrington favourites San Lorenzo, Las Ramblas, The Terrace Gin and Cigar Bar and Vandal Restaurant, Kuckoo is the town’s first dedicated rock n roll ‘cocktail bar’ and will boast a team of professional highly trained, full-time mixologist bartenders. Their expertise, coupled with a genuine passion for exceptional customer service, ensures that every drink is crafted to perfection. The opening will be the Kuckoo Groups fifth venue following successful launches for the brand in Chester, Preston, Knutsford and Sheffield.
The venue will offer table service and cocktail masterclasses alongside an extensive, fun and inspiring cocktail menu. The stylish venue will be open seven days a week from 5pm until late.

The centrepiece of the renovation is a stunning fully lit stone bar – a stunning, modern bar top and fascia, backlit in red to create a warm glow that will effortlessly take the bar from a relaxed daytime vibe to an all out late night rocking atmosphere.
The playlist at Kuckoo is made up of rock and roll favourites from legendary bands spanning various eras with iconic and popular tracks from The Rolling Stones and Blondie to Guns and Roses, The Killers, Oasis and The Strokes – providing a feel-good, nostalgic vibe and fun atmosphere.
Founder and owner of Kuckoo, Richard Powell, said: “Warrington has never seen a bar with such a single-minded view to cocktail making before. The dedicated staff are trained to the highest level and have a true passion for excellent customer service as well as creating fun and fantastic tasting cocktails.
“The refurbishment will create a glamorous, feel-good atmosphere for the local community and visitors to Warrington that sets Kuckoo apart from the competition.”
The Kuckoo story began with the opening of Kuckoo Preston back in 2010 followed by Chester, in 2013 and Sheffield and Knutsford in 2017. Now, the iconic brand is set to make its mark in Warrington, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for those seeking a unique blend of cocktails and rock and roll music.
