Rope & Anchor pub set to close at end of month

THE popular Rope & Anchor Pub at Woolston, Warrington, is set to close at the end of the month.

The current tenant took to social media to make the announcement stating: “As the pub has been on the market for the past 3 months, there has been no successful takeover.
“Therefore the brewery decided to close its doors to the public on 31st of October.
“Last trading day will be the 31st of October until 11 pm.
“Brewery informed that it will re-open in future.”

The news comes on the back of the brewery successfully seeking planning permisison to improve the premises.
The proposals at the premises on Manchester Road, Woolston involved enchaning the existing pub without having any detrimental impact on nearby residents.
