POLICE investigating a hit-and-run collision on Winwick Road in Warrington are appealing for witnesses and those with dash cam footage to come forward.
Shortly after 4.15pm on Tuesday 12 September, police were called to reports of a collision on A49 Winwick Road involving a silver Audi A6 and a pedal cyclist.
The car failed to stop at the scene and the vehicle was found abandoned by officers in an alleyway near Longford Street and Rhodes Street.
The cyclist, a 16-year-old boy, was airlifted to hospital for treatment to his injuries. He remains in hospital at this time with serious injuries, believed to be potentially life changing.
An investigation into the collision on Winwick Road remains ongoing and police are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch with them.
Sergeant Anthony Gallagher said: “The victim in this case sustained serious injuries and we’re committed to doing all we can to trace the person responsible.
“This incident happened at a busy time of day and as part of our enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has any dashcam or CCTV footage.
“The same goes for anyone who may have seen the suspected vehicle being abandoned or has any other information which could aid our investigation.
