VEHICLE Adaption specialists BAS were delighted to show Warrington South MP Andy Carter around their workshop outlining the specialist work they do.

BAS owner and Managing Director, Bill Bradley, had met Mr Carter at Disability Awareness Day at Walton hall & Gardens and Mr Carter was keen to learn more about the company.

Mr Carter began with a tour of the premises, so that he could meet the staff and talk to them about the roles they play in the services offered. In the workshop he also asked to see some of the vehicles currently being worked on and was very impressed, especially as he had no idea that these services were available for people living with disabilities and elderly people living in Warrington and the local area.

The company also discussed with Mr Carter their proposed growth plans for the business and he listened to ideas and concerns in relation to this.

Owner and MD Bill Bradley said “It was great to receive advice from Mr Carter with regards to our concerns/ideas for expansion, in particular the purchase of waste land behind the BAS premises and the issues we have had with this. He was also very keen in hearing about our ideas to expand our Apprenticeship and Trainee scheme, something which would benefit the young people of Warrington.”

Speaking on the MP’s visit, Operations Director Carl Birkin commented: “Even though we have been in the local area for many years, it is surprising how many people still don’t know about us. This was a wonderful opportunity and experience to speak with Mr Carter and to let him see first hand who we are as a company and what we offer to the people of Warrington, particularly those who are elderly or living with disabilities. He seemed genuinely interested in what we do and it was a pleasure to be able to show him our business in action.”

  1. Great news regarding your expansion plans, however the waste land is a patch of grass no larger than a van parking space. I find it difficult to see how this will benefit your business? C’mon let’s be realistic here.

  2. That land was left by Mrs Edith Unsworth for the children of the village for pleasure and recreation on a bequeath in her will.
    Indenture dated 20th September 1920
It’s maintained by Warrington Borough Council.
It is owned by the parish council.

  3. The parish council would never sell this land
There is a plaque erected on the recreation ground to
    Edith Unsworth
Maybe BAS should consider a more suitable premises for their business out of the area

  4. I agree, if they have these grandeur plans then they should move to a more suitable business park where they can do it, I doubt this will happen because business rates are probably low and it’s convenient There is no other reason to make a statement about expansion knowing this land can’t and shouldn’t be taken other than to make the reader think they are a lot larger than what they are. That said, they have probably outgrown the tiny office building and garage. It’s time for them to move on elsewhere.

  5. If you asked anyone who lives around this garage they would all tell you the noise has become intolerable on a daily basis, including weekend.
Staff are parking on the road and whilst not breaking any law it is causing a nuisance.
Also noted they do not adhere to their opening and closing times and think they can access anytime they like.
If you wish to expand like above,I agree, find a more suitable business park with ample parking for your staff.
