WARRINGTON’S premier Oktoberfest, organised by Warrington Rotary Club at the town’s Parr Hall, is celebrating its 26th year of raising money for local and international charities and community organisations.
From humble beginnings of a few casks of real ale, to a festival of over 70 casks of various beers, a gin and fizz bar and live music over three days and raising over £350,000 over the years, it has become a regular feature in the town’s event calendar.
The idea of an Oktoberfest beer festival came from Cliff Houghton, a member of the club and also a master brewer at a local brewery.
The rest is history, with thousands of people attending over the years. Rated as the best in the northwest by many beer aficionados, it continues its long service to both attendees and charities.
Many friendships have been created, due to Rotary’s Warrington Oktoberfest, at its annual meet-up.
This year the event starts Thursday 12th October until Saturday 14th October at Warrington’s Parr Hall in Palmyra Square.
Opening times are 5;30pm to 10:30 pm on Thursday, 5 pm-11.30 pm on Friday, and 12 noon until 10:30 pm on Saturday.
Tickets are obtainable online and at the door.
