One casualty rescued after collision on Winwick Road

FIREFIGHTERS helped rescue one casualty following a collision on Winwick Road, Warrington, yesterday, Thursday.

The one-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 1.30 pm yesterday, Thursday.

One fire crew from Warrington attended at the scene. One person needed help getting out of the vehicle and was handed to the care of paramedics.

Earlier in the day at 10:22 one crew from Warrington was called out to reports of a car on fire on Bruche Avenue, Woolston.

The car fire was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel. Police closed the road while the incident was dealt with. It is believed the fire started due to a mechanical problem.
