HUNDREDS of people attended an apprenticeships jobs fair organised by Warrington South MP Andy Carter at the town’s Parr Hall.

With businesses matched with candidates and job offers made on the day, Mr Carter was delighted with the response to the event and is already planning to repeat it again next year.

Mr Carter said: “We’ve had a fantastic response from hundreds of people from across the town looking for their next steps into work and from local employers, wanting to engage with the brightest and best talent locally.
“Many of the young people who I talked to today said they were really grateful that they could come and talk to respected employers, with their parents, about the apprenticeships they were offering before having to make decisions about what to do next. So many of the companies who attended today also had apprentices on their stands to talk about their experiences and why learning while you earn is a viable option.
“We’ve also managed to match businesses with candidates and I know offers have already been made for jobs, with more to come in the next few weeks. I’m already looking forward to running the event again in 2024.”
