Road closures for annual St Patrick’s Day Parade

A number of road closures will be in place this Sunday for the annual St Patrick’s Day parade organised by members of Warrington’s Irish community.

The closures will be in place this Sunday (March 12) between 10.15 am to 12:15 pm, as members of the local Irish community parade from the town’s Irish club to the River of Life on Bridge Street, Warrington.

Warringotn Borough Council has made an order that on the occasion of the above-mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets between the hours of 10:15am and 12:15pm on Sunday, 12th March 2023, for as long is required for the safe passage of the Parade when the appropriate temporary signs are displayed, viz:

Orford Lane
Pinners Brow
Winwick Street

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the above streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
Vehicular access to premises will only be permitted under the guidance of the organisers.
Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
