All lines of enquiry are being explored, including whether this was a hate crime.
Police are also advising to avoid speculation online and be wary of sharing misinformation relating to this case.

Emergency services were called to Culcheth Linear Park by members of the public at 3.13 pm on Saturday 11 February, after Brianna’s body was found on a path where she was sadly pronounced dead.
As part of ongoing enquiries, a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from the local area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They are currently in custody assisting police with their investigation.
Brianna was a transgender girl but police said there is no evidence to suggest her murder was a hate crime.

There is a “no-fly zone” in place at Culcheth around the scene of Brianna Ghey’s death following reports of drones flying over the area.
