VIDEO: CHRISTMAS community spirit shone brightly in Alder Crescent, Orford, Warrington, last night thanks to local couple Rachel and Carl Wood.

Using their own electricity they helped light up the whole street with a fantastic Christmas lights switch on, helping raise money for a neighbour.

Father Christmas was on hand to help with the official countdown to switch on the lights.

Rachel and Carl created the spectacular festive street scene, which attracted a large crowd of onlookers, helping raise funds for neighbour Chris Ball in memory of his dad Derek.

All monies raised will be going to the Warrington MS Society. Last night alone they raised over £440.

Chris has been raising money throughout the year at running events for Multiple Sclerosis in memory of his father Derek. Donations can be made online via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/christopher-ball61
