WALTON Lea Partnership, a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon team in Warrington.

The charity operates two learning facilities for people with learning disabilities at Walton Lea Victorian Walled Garden and Walton Gardens Conservatory Range. The charity develops people’s employability skills through horticultural activities, arts and crafts, woodwork, and garden maintenance.
Alongside the donation, the Amazon Warrington team is uniting with Walton Lea Partnership to build a garden at the Amazon fulfilment centre for associates to enjoy. The Amazon team and members from Walton Lea Partnership will work together to create and maintain the garden.

James Pitt, Site Leader at Amazon in Warrington, said: “It’s a pleasure to support Walton Lea Partnership and we are thankful the team is creating a beautiful project at our site. We look forward to engaging further with this fantastic organisation, and hope that our donation helps the team continue its important efforts.”
Gary Chekansky, an employee at Amazon who nominated the charity for support, added: “Thank you to everyone at Walton Lea Partnership for collaborating with our team on this project. We’re excited to get started.”
Karen, the site manager at Walton Lea Partnership said: “We are grateful for the support Amazon in Warrington has provided and we are looking forward to coming to the fulfilment centre to begin work on the garden. Thank you to James and the team for their donation and for allowing our members to showcase their skills with the creation of the garden.”
The donation to Walton Lea Partnership was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
