POLICE are investigating after a scooter was torched at Orford during the early hours of this morning, while firefighters were also called out to tackle two grass fires in the town yesterday.
Shortly after 4.20 am one fire crew from Warrington was called out to reports of a scooter on fire in a field off Toll Bar Road, Orford.
It is believed to have been set on fire deliberately. The fire was put out using a hose reel jet and police were informed.
Earlier at 22:38 pm, last night one fire engine from Warrington was called out to a patch of grass between properties and a train line on Hume Street, Warrington, which was on fire. The crew put it out using a hose reel jet.
Earlier at 18:15 one fire crew from Warrington was called to Pennington Lane, Collins Green, Warrington.
Around 300 square metres of grass was smouldering in a field off Pennington Lane. Beaters and a hose reel jet were used by the crew to dampen the area down and a full check of the surrounding area was carried out.
