A ROAD was closed and neighbouring properties checked after fire broke out in a detached garage at Woolston, Warrington, last night.
The blaze was in Hillock Lane and the garage contained a car. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with a hose reel jet and a main jet was put in place as a safety precaution.
Hillock Lane was closed while the operation was going on and neighbouring properties were checked for heat spread. A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the building
An investigation showed the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
