Man, 21, charged with assault on 75-year-old man on Sainsbury’s car park

A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault following an investigation into an alleged attack on a 75-year-old man on Sainsbury’s car park in Warrington on Friday night.

The 75-year-old man was assaulted while walking along Church Street in Warrington and again as he walked across Sainsbury’s car park at approximately 10.35pm on Friday 10 June.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries and later discharged.

Benjamin Jones, 21, from Trafford Avenue, Bewsey and Whitecross will appear at Chester Magistrates today (Monday 13 June).
