Green Belt home extension approved – despite objections

PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead to an extension to an existing barn conversion on Green Belt land at Lymm – despite objections from the parish council and a nearby resident.

The property is at Agden Bridge Farm, Spring Lane, Lymm and it was opposed by Lymm Parish Council on the grounds it represented overdevelopment on a Green Belt site.

A neighbour objected on the grounds of potential noise and disruption and access and parking difficulties during construction.

The plan involves the construction of a two-storey side extension on the southwestern side elevation to provide an additional, third bedroom and an extended dining and living area on the ground floor.

The scheme will result in the removal of an existing external staircase on the side elevation.

Warrington Borough Council Planning officers recommended approval and said the extension would not result in a disproportionate addition to the original building and as such was considered an appropriate development in the Green Belt.
There were no significant issues regarding residential amenity, they said.
