One more COVID-19 death as infection rates and inpatient numbers continue downward trend

ONE more COVID-19 death has sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital since last week although inpatient numbers and infection rates are continuing to fall.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have fallen from 30-24 since last Monday, while another 50 patients have been discharged.

A total of 172 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington during the past seven days, with overall infection rates continuing a downward trend in Warrington and nationally.

Current inpatients as of Monday, May 23, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 24 (30) including 0 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 642 – 306.6 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 265.3
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 688 – 328.6 per 100,000.

There have been 172 (182) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 77,564 (77,407) and an infection rate of 82.1 (102.7) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 85.7 (96.1).
Testing has also fallen by -805(-17.6%) over the past seven days.
