FIREFIGHTERS are tackling an ongoing blaze involving a commercial building at Cuerdley, Warrington.
The blaze is at a building in Widnes Road and the A562 is closed at the junction with Back Lane, Cuerdley.
Four fire engines from Penketh, Widnes, Warrington, Lymm and an aerial appliance from Lymm were sent to the scene in the early hours of this morning.
Crews are dealing with the fire in sectors and using three hose reel jets to extinguish the well-developed fire, which involved an outbuilding next to the main premises.
Borough council experts are assessing the structural safety of the building, which is understood to be a derelict building next to the Spice of India takeaway.
