Police action after large group of intoxicated youths cause anti-social behaviour at Longbarn Park

1

POLICE have increased patrols at Longbarn Park following issues involving a large group of intoxicated youths causing anti-social behaviour.

Officers attended and dispersed the youths and will be stepping up patrols over the holidays both day and night.

All local shops have also been spoken to and advised to report youths asking customers to buy them alcohol.
This will also be monitored.

Parents are also being asked to check up with their children if they are congregating at night and being asked to speak to them about the criminal age of responsibility and the impact this sort of behaviour can have on a community.

Please report any issues via 101 or in an emergency 999.

As well as increased patrols on the park local officers are paying some attention to St Bridgets Close due to complaints about parking.

Whilst it is a narrow road and parking on it can block passing vehicles police ask residents to be mindful that they must leave enough room for a pram/wheelchair to get past.

They are also asking people with a driveway to use it to ease congestion.
