POLICE have launched an appeal in a bid to trace a man and woman following a dog attack incident on grazing land at Statham near Lymm, which resulted in the deaths of eight sheep, including young lambs and an expensive Ram.
The attack took place on March 30th, on farmland near dairy farm GP Broadsmith & Son based at nearby Pool Farm who had put out an appeal for information in a bid to trace golfers who may have witnessed the incident.
Golfers have now come forward with further information and police are now bidding to trace a man and woman in their 50s who were seen in the area with a black dog.
PC Jim Clark from Cheshire Police Rural crime Team said: “This attack has resulted in the death of 8 sheep of which some were several young lambs and a very expensive Ram.
“Once again occurring due to inability for a person to ensure their dog was under control.
“The incident occurred near Pool Lane, Lymm on the 30th March mid morning.
“It is believed the dog owners a male and female late 50’s with a Black Labrador style breed dog knew exactly what had occurred as thankfully the incident was witnessed by several people.

Farmer should shoot the dog, he is allowed to do thus
You have to be there at that time , owners of these dogs to not hang around . It is horrific to have to pick up your sheep and all the body parts , and then put the ones that are still alive out of their misery , nightmare !!!
