Bungalow conversion plan opposed by parish council

PLANS to partially demolish a two bedroomed bungalow and build front, side and rear extensions, including a first floor Juliet balcony, come before Warrington planners tonight (Wednesday).

The scheme in Birchdale Road, Appleton is opposed by a nearby resident and Appleton Parish Council haS also lodged an objection.

But planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved by Warrington Borough Council’s development management committee.

They say there would be no unacceptable impacts on visual amenity or the character of the area, nor on the residential amenity of neighbours, parking provision, highway network nor trees within the site. The scheme will result in an additional two bedrooms being created.

Although the proposals would result in the roof ridge height being raised by 1.54m, this would not have any significant adverse affect on neighbours.

The parish council objects on the grounds of a loss of privacy for neighbours, especially in regard to the Juliet balcony. The neighbour objects only to a proposed kitchen window.
The rear garden of the property backs onto the Bridgewater Canal.
