Three more COVID-19 deaths as hospital inpatient numbers remain above 100

THREE more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend with more than 100 inpatients, including two in intensive care.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have risen slightly from 106-107 since Friday, while 26 more patients were discharged over the weekend. Since the start of the pandemic, more than 3,500 patients have been admitted to the hospital, with more than 650 deaths.

The hospital is continuing to appeal for people to only attend the accident and emergency department in an emergency. As of 4:09 pm today in Warrington Hospital Emergency Department the longest wait to see a doctor/nurse was over 4 hours, with 59 people waiting and 116 on the department.

Meanwhile, a total of 594 new COVID-19 cases have also been reported in the town since Friday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 595 – 284.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 247.1.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 658 – 314.2 per 100,000.

There have been 1,636 (1,866) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including another 594 since Friday, taking the total to 74,624 (74,130) and an infection rate of 894 (909.8) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 789.3 (873.9).
Testing has also fallen by -715,822 (-14.2%) over the past seven days.
