Legacy Project grant helps support bereavement café

A new bereavement café in Stockton Heath run by St Rocco’s Hospice has become the latest beneficiary of a Warrington Worldwide Legacy Project grant.

The £500 donation will go towards the Bereavement café in Alexandra Park in Stockton heath, providing an informal drop-in that opens once a month in the village.

Facilitated by the St. Rocco’s Counselling & Emotional Care team (CEC) and Hospice volunteers, it is intended to provide support with the opportunity to meet and talk to others going through similar experiences.

With more funds, the hospice can look at opening another Bereavement Café in Warrington so that more people can access this peer support.

St Rocco’s Hospice receives only approximately 25% of its annual running costs from statutory providers. The remaining 75% is secured from voluntary sources.

The project has become the sixth community organisation to benefit from a Warrington Worldwide Legacy Project.

Grants can still be applied for by emailing [email protected] titled Legacy Project.
