FOUR fire engines were called out to deal with a serious fire at an industrial unit on Barleycastle Lane, Appleton Thorn, Warrington, last night.
The blaze started in a caravan and spread to the adjacent industrial unit.
Site staff were also involved in the operation, moving vehicles and removing pallets from the area using a forklift truck.
One man was treated by the North West Ambulance Service for the affects of smoke.
The fire was reported just after 10pm and fire crews from Warrington, Stockton Heath, Lymm and Altrincham went to the scene.
Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the caravan fire and crews then entered the industrial unit were another fire was found.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to put out this fire and isolated power supplies to a nearby portable building which was checked to ensure the fire had not spread there.
Fascia panels were removed and the building dampened down.
The whole area was monitored for hotspots before fire crews handed over the incident to site staff.
