UNITED Utilities’ Priority Services team has been rewarded for its efforts with Warrington residents during the Covid pandemic.

Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) gave them an “Appreciation of Efforts Award” as part of their 2022 annual general meeting.

The Priority Services scheme is completely free and aims to provide additional support for those who might be elderly, be in ill health, have a disability or mental health problems and those customers who may have financial worries or language barriers.

Commenting on the night, WDP chief executive officer Dave Thompson praised the Priority Services team for their work.
He said: “This team have provided an excellent service for those residents in need of extra support throughout the pandemic.

“The team has been exemplary by supporting vulnerable residents in numerous ways, be it; allowing extra time to answer the door due to mobility or hearing difficulties, prioritising water provision for those with various health or care needs, or enabling the use of passwords for staff visits. Users of this service believe it has been essential supporting themselves and other residents during a stressful and vulnerable time for many.”

Amanda Phillips, Priority Services Partnerships and Engagement lead for United utilities, said: “It really is an honour to receive an award such as this, especially in recognition of the help and support we provide to our customers living in vulnerable circumstances over the past two years.

“It makes it all the more special knowing it came direct from people with additional needs themselves that have experienced our services and appreciate the support we offer.”
United Utilities Priority Services teams are based in Warrington and Whitehaven and 160,000 customers across the region are now benefitting from additional services.

Anyone who would like to register for Priority Services, or who has a family member, friend or neighbour who might benefit, can find more information on the company’s website, which includes a secure online form to register.
