Recent falls in COVID-19 infections start to plateau as 257 new cases confirmed

WHILE no further COVID-19 related deaths have been reported and hospital inpatient numbers continue to fall, another 257 new cases have been confirmed in Warrington with recent falls starting to plateau.

The 257 (319) new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 58,115 (57,858).

Infection rates over a seven-day period have fallen marginally to 2,044 (2,049) – 976.1 (978.5) per 100,000 population which are still above the national average of 925.2 (922) per 100,000, which have risen marginally for the first time in over a week.

While no further deaths have been reported, inpatient numbers have fallen again from 62-57, while another 12 patients have been discharged since yesterday.
