LOCALLY based Ingevity have donated £4,135 to Warrington Lions Club as part of the company’s IngeviCares program to make a positive impact in the communities where they operate.

IngeviCares beneficiaries are selected by employees at all manufacturing locations to provide plant-level funding tailored to each community, and the £4,135 donation was delivered to Tony Gandy, Warrington Lions President on behalf of the company’s Lower Walton, Warrington UK facility.

Ingevity senior human resources business partner Clare Connolly said: “The IngeviCares Committee is pleased to support the Warrington Lions Club. Tony Gandy is probably the best-known Father Christmas in Warrington. He visits schools, shelters and nursing homes across December spreading festive cheer raising money for local projects.”

The Warrington Lions were first formed in 1968 with 35 volunteer members.  The number of volunteers has reduced to 15 unpaid volunteer members who are involved in numerous small projects in the community.

Tony Gandy said: “We are really pleased to have been contacted by Ingevity UK and are very grateful for the kind donation of £4,135. Our motto is “TO SERVE” and with the donation received we will ensure we do that to help our local community”.
