GROWING family firm Oates Recovery Ltd has won planning consent for a temporary change of use of land which was formerly a factory site.

Warrington Borough Council planners have approved the use of the land, off Hopwood Street, Warrington, for the storage of recovered broken down vehicles.

The permission is for a period of two years only while the firm looks for a more permanent site.

Oates Recovery, of Marsh House Lane, has been looking for a suitable site for some 18 months, having outgrown their present location.
The land is owned by Warrington Borough Council and will be let to the company.

It was site was formerly the Tinsley Wire Works until the building was demolished around 2003. Since then it has been use for ad hoc car parking.

Two portable buildings and a storage container will be sited on the plot. Officers recommended the scheme be approved as it will result in a short-term solution to support an existing established business.
