THREE members of staff at Anytime Fitness in Stockton Heath, Warrington, have set off on a one million step challenge during January to help raise funds for charity.

Leanne Jones, aged 33, and her colleagues Sophia Butler, 46 and Aiden Miller, 26 are currently undertaking a challenge for all of January to walk 1 million steps to raise money for The Lilac Centre in St Helens – a chemotherapy unit which is part of Whiston and St Helens hospital charity.

Leanne said: “We have chosen this charity as a family member of mine is currently having treatment at the Lilac centre and their diagnosis is not good which has devastated my family.

Between January 1-9 the trio had achieved 281,514 steps and have raised nearly £200 between online and offline donations.

Donations can be made via their fundraising page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/anytimestockton22
