Growing firm seeks approval for temporary expansion site

A GROWING Warrington firm is seeking planning consent for a temporary change of use of land to become a breakdown recovery site.

The application by Oates Recovery Ltd, of Marsh House Lane, Warrington comes before the borough council’s development management committee tonight (Wednesday).
Officers are recommending it be approved for a period of two years while the company seeks a more permanent site. It has been looking for a site for some 18 months, having outgrown its present location.
The land is owned by Warrington Borough Council and will be let to the company – a local family firm.
The site, off Hopwood Street, was formerly the Tinsley Wire Works until the building was demolished around 2003. Since then it has been use for ad hoc car parking. Two portable buildings and a storage container would be sited on the plot.
Officers say the proposal will result in a short term solution to support an existing established business.
