MOTORISTS using Warrington’s Cantilever Bridge are set to face further delays for up to two weeks while work is carried out on gas mains in the area, starting on Monday, January 10.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Cantilever South West Approach from its junction with Ackers Road to its junction with Cantilever South East Approach.

The Order will be effective from 10th January 2022 for 2 weeks, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Ackers Road, Cantilever South East Approach and vice versa.

The closure is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out investigation works on their main.

The work comes after the recent completion of works by Cadent on the nearby Lumb Brook Bridge junction, which created traffic issues prior to Christmas.
