Premier League, Premier Talent

Whichever club you support, you can’t deny that the supply of fresh talent in the Premier League this season is nothing short of phenomenal. The new crop of young EPL players have arrived, and man, are they giving the old guard a run for their money. Since there are so many teams in the league with such a wide variety of talents, we thought we would condense this year’s rising Premier League stars into a simple list for you. We’ve made selections from a variety of different clubs to keep it all fair. These are the players to keep your eye on this season!

Ruelle Walters- Arsenal

Position: Defender

Walters has walked a long road to get here, but everything indicates that now he’s made it this far, he’s headed straight for the top. At only sixteen years old, the right-back played ninety minutes for the Arsenal Under 23s in their tied match at Swindon. He started out as a junior footballer in Peckham, then went on to spend four years with the Spurs. He followed this up with a two-year break which, it seems, did nothing but make him better. In 2019, Man United came calling but botched the signing, allowing Arsenal to swoop in and land this gem of a player.

Fin Stevens- Brentford

Position: Defender

In July 2020, Stevens signed on with Brentford, with whom he made his debut in October. He has been heavily involved with the matchday squad all through the season. He’s an aggressive player who is mentally and physically able to compete under a vast array of circumstances, which makes him someone that the team can rely on no matter what. Stevens had been with Arsenal since he was six years old, but they released him just in time for him to make the jump to a squad that suits him much better.

Jack Hinshelwood- Brighton

Position: Midfielder

Hinshelwood comes from a footballing family, so it’s no surprise that his tactical awareness is top-notch. The academy staff believes this is not only due to his talent and hard work but also due to his immersion in the world of football from such an early age. His father, great uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather were all footballers. While Hinshelwood has played as a centre-back before, he is much too effective in a game to allow him to stay there forever. He’s a great distributor, so he’s found a home in midfield. Marking a slight departure from the rest of his family, Jack likes to move forward and get as many goals in as he can.

Zain Silcott-Duberry- Chelsea

Position: Forward

Chelsea’s Cobham Academy is a breeding ground for so much talent that it’s a challenge to stand out as a player these days. This past summer, however, one player did stand out, and that was Zain. He’s an exciting and very versatile attacker, skills that will definitely make him an asset to any team. He made his debut for the under 18s this year, and he already represents England at the youth level.

Kaide Gordon- Liverpool

Position: Winger/ attacking midfielder

As the fifth-youngest player ever to appear for Liverpool in the team’s history, Gordon is making waves. This Derby-born winger caught the first team’s eye when pre-season training began. He stood out as a player who had fire in every move he made. He was signed amid much turmoil at Derby for 1.1 million pounds before add ons.

Luca Barrington- Manchester City

Position: Winger

Barrington, who has been with Man City since the tender age of six, is a fan of drifting to and fro from either flank to score. This technique has already proven quite successful and is one of the many reasons that we believe he is a star on the rise. He’s already well on his way to becoming a poster boy for the academy with his two-footed attack.

Ben Parkinson- Newcastle United

Position: Winger

Not one to drag his feet, Parkinson has impressed Newcastle Under 18s right off the bat. He attended Kepier School near Sunderland, which has an incredible football academy that nurtured his talents from a young age. While his coach does note that it’s a little early for a player his age to be playing at this level regularly, he continues to pick Parkinson, which is a good omen.

Osman Foyo- Norwich City

Position: Midfielder

While this team and its under 18s have had a bit of a challenging season, a light at the end of the tunnel has emerged in the form of Osman Foyo. He is every team’s dream; he has a wide range of skills that he can deploy equally well at any time. He’s a former Chelsea schoolboy who had no problem scoring against his old club back in August.

Jamie Donley- Tottenham Hotspur

Position: Forward

A player with incredible tenacity and a closer to boot, Northern Ireland and England have both been after Jamie Donley. He went away with Northern Ireland and scored the winning goal in both games, but now he’s played for England in October as well. His great passing range made him a shoo-in for Spurs after having been at their academy since he was eight.

Adrian Blake- Watford

Position: Winger

Blake has been at Watford since he was nine years old and has become one of only thirteen academy players to be offered a two-year scholarship this year. His great pace, smart runs off the wing, and finishing ability makes him a triple threat. Though Blake has fallen prey to COVID and lost 20 days, the team is confident in his ability to remain threatening on the field.

Wrap Up

Keep your eye on these young men; before you know it, they’ll be the new stars of the Premier League!
