Fire crews help rescue person from car following collision on M56

FIRE and Rescue crews helped release a person from a car following a collision on the M56 near Lymm earlier today.

Four fire engines attended from Warrington, Birchwood, Warrington and Lymm shortly after 4.30pm following reports of a collision on the M56 eastbound between junctions 9 and 10.

Crews attended the scene and found that a car had collided with a barrier before coming to a stop on the hard shoulder.

Firefighters helped to release one person from the car, they were then passed to the care of paramedics.

The crews were detained at the scene for around 25 minutes.
