One more COVID-19 death and 277 new cases as infection rates continue to rise

SADLY one more COVID-19 related death has been confirmed at Warrington Hospital, while 277 new cases have been reported in the town with infection rates continuing to rise.

The 277 (286) new cases reported by the UK Health Security Agency, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 41,452 (41,175).

Infection rates have risen again to 1,253 (1,214) – 598.4 (579.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which remains above the national average of 551.3 (535) per 100,000, which have risen again.

While one further death has been reported at the hospital, inpatient numbers have fallen to 25, with five in ICU with a further eight patients discharged since yesterday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 532 (530) 253.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 219.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 614 (611).
