Two more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates rise again with 184 new cases

TWO more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend, as infection rates continue to rise in the town with 184 new cases.

The 184 (140) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 38,237 (38,053).

Infection rates in Warrington have risen again to 877 (872) – 418.8 (416.4) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 440.3 (439.5) per 100,000, which have risen again.

Along with two more COVID-19 related deaths at the hospital, inpatient numbers have risen from 17-19, including three in ICU, while six patients were discharged.

Meanwhile with the South African Omricon variant now identified in the UK Mandatory mask-wearing will return to shops and public transport in England tomorrow, Tuesday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 525 (525) 250.7 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 215.8.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 610 (610).
