MORE issues with the Chester Road swing bridge caused heavy traffic congestion on Bridgefoot and surrounding roads this morning.
It caused lengthy delays during rush hour with local bus services and traffic congestion in and around the area.
The bridge was stuck in the open position for more than an hour earlier this morning, but has since re-opened.
The bridge has been stuck in the open position numerous times in recent years and is scheduled to undergo maintenance work as part of a programme to paint the bridges across the Manchester Ship Canal.
Due to an issue with the Chester Road swing bridge there is very heavy traffic in and around the Bridgefoot area. Services may be delayed.
