NEARLY three tonnes of food has been donated by Gulliver’s World guests to help hungry families in Warrington.

Guests at the theme park resort brought nearly 3,000 kg (three tonnes) worth of food items to two Foodbank weekends, held in October.
In exchange for donating one non-perishable food item per person to donation stations at the theme park, guests were given reduced-price tickets.
The impressive donation will see the goods given to charity The Trussell Trust, which supports a nationwide network of foodbanks, including Warrington Foodbank.
Mel Burrows-Carr, resort manager at Gulliver’s World, said: “We want to say a big thank you to our wonderful guests who gave so generously to support the local community here in Warrington.
“This donation will go towards supporting people who need a helping hand across the region and Gulliver’s World was pleased to help.
“We know one in five people live below the poverty line in the UK and we are dedicated to finding more ways to work with charities to help people in times of need.”
